The BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc is a community-business partnership with the aim of raising much needed funds for the local hospital.
In 2008 local residents decided to take action to bridge the gap between community need and government funding of Goulburn Base Hospital and local health services. So over 100 committed community members got together and launched BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Inc., a community-business partnership, with the sole aim of enhancing the quality of health facilities and services in the Goulburn-Mulwaree Shire.
Now several years on the charity’s fundraising events are a permanent fixture on the community social calendar including Movie under the Stars each February and Mile of Pennies mid-year. However without question the hero is the BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising extravaganza, Dancing with the Starz. This star spangled event raised an impressive $100,000 over its first three years and continues to attract enormous support with the most recent spectacular delivering an extraordinary $85,000.
It is through this level of dedication and hard work that the BDCU Goulburn Hospital Fundraising Committee and the local community has been able to make such an extraordinary difference to the quality of health services within the Goulburn-Mulwaree Shire.
